Located in the Pleasant Valley at the eastern edge of California’s coastal mountain range, Coalinga is the regional retail center of western Fresno County. We are situated ten miles west of Interstate 5 and 65 miles southwest of Fresno. Our location places us approximately halfway between Los Angeles and San Francisco, as well as Los Angeles and Sacramento.
Coalinga is home to several key assets, including the West Hills Community College District, Coalinga College, the Coalinga Municipal Airport, an award-winning school system, a parks and recreation district, and multiple cannabis businesses. We are currently the only city in Fresno County with a legal operational recreational and medicinal cannabis dispensary, as well as licenses for indoor cultivation and manufacturing.
In addition to our prime location, we offer exceptional customer service, a growth-focused mindset, and several unique advantages for businesses. These include a large daytime population not reflected in our census data, lower natural gas rates (as we are the city’s natural gas provider), and a City Council willing to consider reasonable business incentives to attract new companies.
